An HMI or Human Machine Interface is needed in many motion control applications. These devices are used to allow a user to instruct a machine on what to do without the need of a full PC. Many times HMIs are touch enabled allowing them to be placed on the production floor and used by technicians right by the machine. There are many sources for HMIs and many can cost thousands of dollars. With the arrival of the Raspberry Pi Foundation and its Raspberry Pi models, a small but powerful option arrived. New EtherCAT I/O Controller from Galil
Galil Motion Control introduces the RIO-574×0, its first EtherCAT Slave I/O Controller. New miniature 10mm Motor Doubles Output Torque
FAULHABER has launched a new generation of metal brush commutated motors, the 1024…SR series with a diameter of 10mm. In combination with a gearhead, its output torque can achieve 300 mNm, twice that of similar products on the market. Thanks to a superior torque/speed ratio (flat slope) the motor can handle varying loads at reduced speed variations, thus granting smooth control. This performance is achieved with very low noise and vibration levels.
